Xi’an Key Laboratory of Environmental Functional Materials & Pollution Remediation relies on the provincial key discipline of analytical chemistry and the provincial first-class major of applied chemistry.Focusing onsoil and water pollutionsolutions, it develops materials for environmental pollutant detection and pollution remediation to address core difficulties in environmental pollution prevention and control in Xi’an.

The lab has established three main research directions: research and application of environmental pollutant detection materials, development and application of soil and water pollution remediation materials, and research on resource utilization of pollutants.

Led by Prof.YangJuxiang, the lab has a core team of 21 full-time researchers, includingfourwith academic titles ofShaanxi Provincial Young and Middle-aged Scientific and Technological Innovation Leading Talents and Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology New Stars.

In terms of achievements, the lab has wontwoThird Prizes of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award,fourSecond Prizes andthreeThird Prizes of Outstanding Higher Education Achievement Awards issued by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. It has undertaken 31 vertical research projects including National Natural Science Foundation projects and 19 horizontal cooperation projects, with total research funding reaching 9.07 million yuan. 52 academic papershave been publishedin total, among which 33 are SCI-indexed papers, and 17 national invention patentsgranted.
