The School of Intelligent Manufacturing is a practice-oriented engineering school established by Xi’an University in response to China’s "Manufacturing Power" strategy and Xi’an’s industrial transformation. It houses two provincial key disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, Atomic and Molecular Physics) and one municipal key discipline (Measurement Technology and Instruments), and is authorized to offer the M.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering (0855). The school co-founded the Xi’an Intelligent Manufacturing Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Alliance and the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College. It hosts 13 provincial/municipal research platforms, including the Shaanxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Surface Engineering and Remanufacturing, and 7 provincial research innovation teams, including the Qinchuangyuan “Scientist-Engineer”Team.
The school’s intelligent manufacturing program cluster comprises six engineering programs, including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (a provincial first-class program that has passed the on-site reviewforengineering education accreditation), Automation, and Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering. The faculty consists of 80 full-time instructors, with 77.5% holding Ph.D. degrees and 51.2% holding associate or full professorships.
Adhering to the “student-centered, outcome-oriented, and continuous improvement” engineering education philosophy, the school has,over the past five years, been granted one national-level and six provincial-level first-class courses. Faculty members have received two provincial teaching achievement awards, five provincial teaching skills innovation competition awards, led nearly 500 research projects (total funding exceeding RMB 80 million), and earned 24 science and technology awards from provincial, ministerial, and industry bodies. Students have received 21 national innovation and entrepreneurship training projects and 124 national science and technology competition awards.
The school implements the “1·2·4” comprehensive quality enhancement program. The undergraduate placement rate exceeds 90%; the graduate school admission rate is approximately 20%; nearly 90% of graduates work in their majors; 80% serve Xi’an’s economic development; and employer satisfaction reaches 91.6%. The school continues to produce high-quality applied talents for regional enterprises and research institutions.
