On October 21, High-end Academic Seminar of Cultural Inheritance and Innovation of Silk Road (Dunhuang)
International Cultural Expo was held in Dunhuang, Gansu Province, with the participants of university
authorities from 39 Chinese colleges and universities, such as Fudan University, Beijing Normal University
and Lanzhou University, and 8 Foreign colleges and universities, such as Russian Urals National Economic
University and Pukyong National University in South Korea. President Xu Kewei attended the meeting.
Conference passed the " One Belt One Road" strategic alliance’s articles of association among the colleges
and universities and the Dunhuang Consensus. The "One Belt One Road" strategic alliance among the
colleges and universities was also established in the seminar. Our University is one of the 47 founding
member units of it both at home and abroad.
The establishment of "One Belt One Road" strategic alliance among the colleges and universities is aimed,
relying on the famous historic and cultural brand of the silk road, to promote the exchanges and cooperation
between colleges and universities in the regions and countries along the "One Belt One Road", to build
the "One Belt One Road" higher education community, to strengthen the high-level think tank construction,
to further improve the cultural decisionmaking consultation, to enhance the internationalization level of
higher education, which will become a significant move for higher education serving the along countries’
national development strategy.
The Symposium was sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Gansu Provincial Party Committee,
undertaken by Education Department of Gansu province, co-sponsored by Dunhuang municipal government.
After the seminar, President Xu Kewei was also invited to the experts consulting conference for the
development of college of Dunhuang in Northwest Normal University. Zhang Tianshe, director of Office
of Party and Government Affairs, accompanied.
