The opening ceremony to welcome the first group of Thai students study in Xi’an-U was held on Agu.29 in conference room on the first floor of office building. 

The Thai consulate Lin Yao, Xi’an-U Party Secretary Lei Ying-jie, 

President Xu Ke-wei, Thai consulate staff, teachers and 29 students from Phuket and 

Hatyai universities, leaders and relevant functional departments members of our university 

attended the ceremony.  Vice President of Wang Xiao-ping presided over the ceremony.
President Xu welcomed the Thai students and gave a brief introduction of our university. 

He said that teaching foreign students Chinese is a bridge to connect our school and foreign countries. 

He hopes these Thai students will have a good time and  make full use of school resources. 

Work hard and bridge the friendship between China and Thailand. He also sent best wishes to all the students. 

In his speech, Mr. Lin Yao thanked our school to attach great importance to Thai students. He stressed that 

this is a very important learning opportunity for Thai students, hoped that they can experience a different life 

and have a good time in Xi’an. When they are encountered problems, try to ask for help from school and 

consulate. 

Students representatives Chen Guan-liang and Li Yu-fen used both Thai and Chinese language to express 

their feelings. 

They expressed that they will cherish this opportunity, observe the school rules and regulations 

and work hard,jointly build and maintain the beauty of the Xi’an-U.

The teacher，Dong Hong-jie, on behalf of the international education major of humanities college, 

made a speech and expressed high expectations to these students.After the ceremony, the Thai students 

presented gifts to our school.
