　　The 11th “Huawen Cup” Teaching Ability Online Competition for English Major Students from Normal Universities and Colleges and exchange and exhibition activities were hold in Baoji University of Arts and Sciences from November 26 to 27, sponsored by the Microteaching Committee and the Council of China Education Technology Association. The competition brought together 354 excellent normal students of English majors from 50 universities and colleges including Guangzhou University, Shanghai Normal University, etc. Eight students from the School of Foreign Studies of Xi'an University won 4 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes in“Teaching Design Competition” and 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes in“Teaching Skills Competition”.

　　Based on the current needs of training normal student, the “Huawen Cup” Teaching Ability Online Competition and exchange and exhibition activities are national events to promote the teaching skills, key ability and core literacy with depth fusion of information technology and teaching for normal students, as well as the most influential teaching skills competition covering the most participants from universities and colleges in China.

　　During the preparation, in line with the idea of “strengthening professional skills and promoting learning through competition”, eight contestants were selected through the preliminary and the final contests of the School and trained to participate in the final. Under the supports of leaders from the university and school and guidance from teachers in training team, teachers and students work together to overcome difficulties such as pressed preparation time, online communication, venue limit through the training and rehearsals. With full preparation in the course design and teaching skills training and exercise, students achieved success in the fierce competition with outstanding students from other universities and colleges. It was a breakthrough in the award-winning performance of students in this competition.

　　The competition is not only a test of the teaching level and talent training quality of English major, but also an effective carrier to further strengthen the professional quality of students, improve the teaching skills, practical ability and innovation ability of English normal students. It is of great significance to improve the quality of education and create professional characteristics.
