On October 27, Professor XuKewei, President of the university, was invited to visit University of the West of Scotland (UWS) for educational cooperation and exchange; Professor Richard Fu (Head of Research Institute of Global Film Covering Technology), Professor DavidS.Smyth (Dean of School of Engineering), Professor Des Gibson (Head of Research Institute of Advanced Technology) and Professor Radosavljevicof UWS participated in this exchange activity.

UWS is located inthe west of picturesque Scotland; it is an internationally comprehensive university with Business School, School of Computer and Engineering, School of Education, School of Science and Technology, School of Social Science, School of Innovation and Culture Industry, School of Medical Care and Midwifery and others.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, President XuKewei, Professor Richard, Professor Smyth and Professor Gibson conducted discussion and exchange on major setup, academic institution, research direction, engineering practice center, certification of international majors, cooperation between university and enterprises, visiting of teachers and students of both universities. Professor Richard, representing Research Institute of Global Film Covering Technology and School of Computer and Engineering of UWS, and Professor Yang Xiaohui, representing School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of our university signed framework agreement on teacher training, 2+2 talent cultivation mode, etc.; three teachers will be chosen to visit UWS for exchange in the near future. At the same time, a framework agreement on deepening exchange and cooperation between our university and UWs is under negotiation.

Later on, accompanied by relevant personnel of UWS, President XuKewei and the delegation visitedResearch Institute of Global Film Covering Technology, Micro-dimension Sensor ExperimentalCenter, and ExperimentalCenter for Materials and Test of Mechanical Engineering.
