The Head of Education Department of Unitec Institute of Technology Visited Xi'an-U

On May 7, Dr. Hayo Reinders, the head of Education Department of Unitec Institute of Technology,
visited our university. President Xu Kewei and Vice-President Wang Xiaoping, along with the leaders
from Department ofForeign Exchange and Cooperation, Teachers College and Academic Affairs Office
met the visitors.
President Xu Kewei remarked that he wished the success of joint-education project between Xi’an-U
and Unitec, which will supply our students with rich and high-quality learning recourses and channels.
He also expected that Unitec teachers and students can come to Xi’an-U to communicate and study,
laying a good foundation for future all-round cooperation of both sides.Vice-president Wang Xiaoping
indicated that we are willing to carry out communications with Unitec in fields of teachers, students
and culture exchanges based on the success of joint education project.
In the afternoon, both sides held a further talk on the joint education issues in Preschool Education major,
discussing details about talent-training scheme and professional curriculum design, preliminarily signed
the cooperation agreement. By active communication and discussion, our Department of Foreign Exchange
and Cooperation and Unitec have agreed on available future teacher- exchange project, which will provide
a wider platform for our teachers’ further overseas education.
Dr. Hayo Reinder spoke highly about our school’s development prospect. He remarked this is a rewarding
visit. Not only did he feel people’s hospitality in Xi’an, but he also saw the professional qualities and
dedication of our staff from the negotiation group, which made him full of confidence for the future
cooperation. He also remarked that after returning back to New Zealand, they will carefully redesign
the details of joint education items and sign the agreement based on the result of this communication,
and actively promote further cooperation in different areas for both sides. On behalf of Unitec,
Dr. Hayo sincerely invited our leaders, teachers and students to visit beautiful New Zealand.
