On January 4th, Wang Jianguo, researcher of University of Technology Sydney in Australia, came to our University and gave academic reports titled Computer Vision and its Application.

Wang Jianguo introduced the latest research trends and research progress in the field of computer vision. He represented some key technology and algorithms in the application of robot technology. Combined with his own research orientation, he explained how the computer vision technology could be used in picture processing, mode recognition and intelligent transportation system.

Meanwhile, he illustrated how airmanship and engineering detection could be applied in the field of mine disaster rescue, nondestructive inspection and energy conservation and emission reduction with solid examples. He gave all typical but rich examples which made his reports vivid and interesting. His research projects are rooted in government’s needs and company’s requirements. He could integrate the complicated theories and technology with engineering project practice.

The reports indicated the value and acting points of applied research for the teachers in our University, which could show clearly the direction of deepening the potency dimension of industry-university-research cooperation, and innovating the mode of industry-university-research cooperation.
