Students achieve success in the National College Student Translation Competition

Wang Xinan, Chen Limeng, Li Yuling and Zhang Wenjing, students from the Translation and Interpretation Department of the School of Foreign Studies, won the third prize in the "English World" Cup National College Students' English Translation Competence Competition sponsored by the Commercial Press, and in addition, Li Yuling won the second prize and Wu Wenjun won the third prize in the preliminary competition of "CATTI Cup National Translation Competition" sponsored by the National Steering Committee for Postgraduate Education of Translation Major and the Translation Institute of China Foreign Languages Bureau.

On receiving the notice of the competition, the School of Foreign Studies actively encouraged and organized students to participate in the competition, and arranged teachers to supervise the students, and carefully revised their translated versions. Through the joint efforts of teachers and students, the School of Foreign Studies overcame difficulties and finally achieved good results.

The School of Foreign Studies has always attached importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability, and actively provided students with various exchange platforms at all levels. The success of these competitions shows the achievements ofthe Department’s competition-assisted teaching and learning mode.

The School of Foreign Studies will continue to organize students to participate in various professional competitions, so as to raise the teaching and research level in the field of translation and improve the education quality to benefit students’ practical ability.
